For a while, many of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 users were looking for an update that will enable the camera2api, which will open up a new array of functionalities, and most importantly will let them use GCam to capture some stunning portrait shots. Until now, users had to unlock the bootloader and void warranty but now, after the latest update, users can now enable the camera2api without losing warranty. I have tried this method and it worked flawlessly. Here is how you can do it.
- Power off phone.
- Press volume up and power button.
- The phone will now boot into fastboot mode.
- Connect the phone to PC using a USB cable.
- Press Shift+Right click to open CMD/minimal adb.
- Enter this command.
**fastboot oem enable_camera_hal3 true**
Now long press to shut down the phone and restart, and install GCam from here.
